Well, I am working specifically with wheat, so I would say: Wheat 🙂
Having said that I always find it quite amazing how much variation you can see within one (plant) species. It’s similar to people really: We are all one species, but there is a lot of variation there (short, fat, thin, tall, dark, blond, brunette, etc.). Equally in wheat (and other species) there is a huge variation in morphology (i.e. what the plant looks like).
One of the things I want to understand is this underlying variation and how we can use it to improve current wheat varieties.
I hope that answers your question.
