People in my field are a lot nicer and friendlier, less competitive than other fields. It’s like we’re all working together to save the environment and make sure there will be enough food to feed the world. My favourite topic is understanding how and why plants live, what genes are expressed, when and how much.
I love that the main motivation of my research is to do some good for everyone in the world, we’re actively working to make the future better for lots of people.
I love all kinds of science, though astronomy is really cool, there’s just so much about space that we don’t know!
I like working on pathogenic bacteria because I know that improving our understanding of them can directly lead to better treatments against them in the future, and help people around the world!
Anything related to human health really interests me, although I agree with Richard that space is also very cool. Outside of science, I really like learning about history too
I like the interaction between researchers, farmers and breeders in my field. Everyone has different ideas, views and goals and it is challenging (in a good way) to get it all sorted and make sure that everyone is a happy bunny at the end.
My favourite topic is understanding how genes affect the look and quality of wheat plants.
