As far as I know there has never been any solid scientific evidence of ghosts, but no real way to disprove them either! A lot of people are convinced they have experience paranormal activity so who knows? I think it is something which comes down to everybody’s own beliefs 🙂
There have been debates for centuries over the existence of paranormal activity.
As scientists we are trained to think critically (this counts for you too), and so when we ask the question “do ghosts exist” we need to come back with some results that have been gathered in a rigorous and scientific way. As far as I am aware, no one has managed to produce any results which convincingly state that ghosts exist.
P.S. Despite this, because of the nature of the question a true scientist cannot say that ghosts DON’T exist, since you can’t prove the non-existence of something which doesn’t exist without it having existed in the first place. Therefore, we can only say that we don’t THINK that ghosts exist, and give our reasons for saying so, and that we have proved previous theories on their existence to be false
As a scientist I try to apply the Scientific Method to help me explain my surroundings, i.e. is there scientific evidence for the existence of ghosts?
I haven’t seen any convincing evidence, so I my answer is: There is no scientific evidence for the existence of ghosts.
But as Richard said that doesn’t mean that ghosts don’t exist, because you cannot prove the absence of something.
I don’t really know… as the others say, there is little evidence from science that ghosts exist, but I have experienced strange sensations in houses I have lived in, making me feel that ghosts might have existed….
