      This varies depending on who you look at. The worldwide figure for men is usually given as around 1.75 m, about 5 ft 9. Females are on average 1.63 m (5 ft 4).

      Height does vary by aspects like nationality and race, with areas like the Netherlands and Scandinavia at the tallest end and parts of Asia at the shortest.

      It has changed over time as well, with average male heights in Europe below 5 ft 5 in the early 1700s for example.
